Young Player of the Season to sign one-year professional deal at Portman Road on July 1st
Town defender Kyle Hammond has agreed a one-year professional deal at the Club, which will be confirmed on July 1st.
The right-back, who picked up the Young Player of the Year at the end of season awards, will remain at Portman Road for the next 12 months, with a year option.
Kyle, who is currently recovering from a long-term knee ligament injury, admits signing a professional deal at Town is a ‘dream come true’ for the local lad.
“Ipswich is my boyhood team and it really is a dream come true to sign a pro deal here,” Kyle told the Club website.
“I’m very happy to sign and it’s come off the back of a difficult season, due to all my injuries.
“Although it’s been a frustrating season with my injury setbacks, it’s also been pleasing to be rewarded with the Young Player of the Season award.
“I think since I started my scholarship I’ve progressed well and signing this deal is the highlight for me.”
