BOSS CONSIDERS LOAN BENEFITS

20 November 2014

Finding replacement for Jonny is a possibility says Mick

Mick McCarthy says he would consider adding to his squad before the loan window closes next week if a replacement for Jonny Williams became available.

The Wales international will continue his rehab from a groin injury with his club Crystal Palace and is expected to be out of action for at least another three weeks.

He is on loan at Portman Road until the start of January but Mick is unsure whether the 21-year-old will return to the Club after he has recovered from his injury, with Palace having a recall option.

“It’s possible that we will look to bring someone in having lost Jonny,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“It suited us having Jonny playing behind a front three and that is role we could look at.

“I’m not sure we have another one that can do that role just like that.

“Other than that, it’s difficult trying to bring players in at this stage when they might come here and not play straightaway.

“If someone is prepared to come in and be part of a very good squad and take their chance then maybe something could happen.”
