Striker ready to take confidence from international debut into weekend clash with the Cherries
David McGoldrick has told Ipswich Player that he is returning to Club football ‘full of confidence’ after making his international debut earlier this week.
The striker earned his first cap for the Republic of Ireland, assisting two of the goals as Martin O’Neill’s side defeated USA 4-1 in Dublin, before being replaced in the 77th minute.
“Playing international football and training at that level will make me a better player and give me confidence,” Didz told the Club’s official YouTube channel.
“It was a real honour to play for Ireland and it was a great game. We won 4-1 against USA and put in a really good performance as a team.
“I enjoyed it and was delighted to be involved. It’s a great set up, the lads are really good and it helped having Murph there too.
“It was good to play alongside him on the international scene as well as here at Ipswich. There’s some good players in the set-up there, as there are here, and I feel confident ahead of the weekend game against Bournemouth.”
