Striker with two assists as Martin O'Neill's side ease to win over USA in Dublin with Daryl Murphy also earning a cap
David McGoldrick made an impressive start to his international career, as his two assists helped the Republic of Ireland ease to a 4-1 friendly victory over USA in Dublin.
The Blues striker was partnered up top on his debut by his Town teammate Daryl Murphy, who was earning his 14th cap, before the pair were both substituted in the 77th minute.
Meanwhile Christophe Berra was an unused substitute for Scotland as they were defeated 3-1 by England at Celtic Park, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wayne Rooney (brace) on target for the Three Lions.
Town defender Tommy Smith was also in international action, but his New Zealand side fell to a 2-0 defeat to Thailand in Bangkok.
