Defender signs short-term deal at Portman Road after spending time training with the Blues
Sean St Ledger has signed a short-term deal with Ipswich Town.
The Republic of Ireland international, who has been without a club since leaving Leicester in the summer, has agreed to stay at Portman Road until late December.
Sean started his career at Peterborough, before moving to Preston North End in 2006.
After clocking up over 185 appearances at Deepdale, which also included a spell on loan at Middlesbrough, the defender teamed up with Leicester City in 2011 and helped the Foxes to the Championship title last season, despite being out of the team for the majority of the campaign.
The 37 cap Ireland international took in a loan spell with Millwall last term and featured for Town’s U21 side against Southampton on Monday night.
The defender will provide cover and competition to Town’s backline and could be in the squad to travel to Charlton at the weekend, with Christophe Berra set to miss out through suspension.
