Mick delighted to be named as Championship Manager of the Month for September but insists it's a 'joint effort'
Mick McCarthy has told the Club website he is delighted to have been named Manager of the Month- but insists it’s a team effort.
The Town boss came out on top as he picked up the division’s award for September, whilst left-back Tyrone Mings was named as the Championship’s Player of the Month.
Both Mick and Tyrone were presented their awards by Joint MD Ian Milne at the training ground earlier today, with the gaffer explaining that he was happy to collect the trophy on behalf of all staff at the Club.
“It’s a nice award to accept on behalf of everyone at the Club, because it’s a joint effort,” Mick told the official Club website.
“The lads have done their part by winning games on the pitch, but it’s that back up to the team with the likes of TC, Andy Liddell, Malcolm Webster, Matt Byard- everyone plays their part and you need that togetherness running through the Club, which we have here.
“We’ve played well over the last seven games or so and it’s nice to be rewarded. I’m pleased to pick the award up but it really is for everyone, as we all play our part.
“It’s been a good month and let’s hope for more of the same going forward.”
