COLE HAPPY TO BE OUTSIDERS

17 October 2014

Midfielder welcomes Blues not being among the promotion frontrunners

Cole Skuse says Town are seen as outsiders for promotion and he’s happy for it to remain that way - for now.

Only goal difference would have kept Blues off top spot if the final whistle had gone just a minute or two earlier at Nottingham Forest in Town’s last outing before the international break.

Michail Antonio’s equaliser meant Mick McCarthy’s team had to settle for a point but Town still go into Saturday’s game against Blackburn in the Play-Off places.

“The manager and Tyrone [Mings] winning the Manager and Player of the Month awards has put the spotlight on the Club a bit more,” said Cole, speaking in an interview in Saturday’s matchday programme.

“I still think people outside of Ipswich are not seeing us as contenders for promotion though. I don’t see many people tipping us to go up.

“I think it’s a good thing. You don’t want heaps of media interest, heaps of pressure put on yourself. If we go about our business quietly, get our jobs done then we will be alright and we will see where that takes us.”

Don’t miss the programme for interviews with Tyrone Mings, Jonny Williams and Jack Collison. Paul Anderson plays the picture game, Mick McCarthy provides his latest thoughts and don’t forget, there is a set of four stickers FREE with each programme.
