IRISH CALL FOR MURPHY

7 October 2014

Striker named in Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers but Conor Sammon misses out on final squad

Daryl Murphy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Germany.

The striker, who notched twice for Town against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, will be looking to add to his international caps as Martin O’Neill’s side prepare for their latest round of Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Ireland take on Gibraltar in Dublin on Saturday, before travelling to Gelsenkirchen to face World Champions Germany on the 14th October.

Blues loanee Conor Sammon hasn’t made the final squad, despite being named in the 37-man provisional party.
