TOWN CONCERN OVER INTERNATIONAL DUO

13 October 2014

Murph and Jonny out of international action as Blues wait on injury report

Mick McCarthy says Town will know more on the extent of the injuries to Daryl Murphy and Jonny Williams tomorrow.

Jonny will miss Wales’ European Championship qualifier against Cyprus tonight after sustaining injuries in the goalless draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina while Murph will be absent for the Republic of Ireland’s qualifier against Germany on Tuesday.

“Murph has a sore Achilles and Jonny got kicked from pillar to post,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“He has a sore ankle and a sore calf and we will know how bad he and Murph are when we see them tomorrow. Fingers crossed, they are not too bad.”

Jonny won his seventh cap for Wales in their draw with Bosnia while Murph made it cap number 13 when he came on as sub for the Republic in their 7-0 win over Gibraltar at the weekend.

Christophe Berra remains with the Scotland squad for their Euro qualifier against Poland, also on Tuesday night.
