Deserved win says Mick as Town move to edge of Play-Offs
Goals from Luke Hyam and Conor Sammon – his first in Town colours - gave Blues the three points with the 2-1 victory lifting the Club into seventh in the Championship table.
“It was an excellent performance. After the first five minutes we were the dominate force in the game,” said the Town boss.
“There will be talk of the last 10 minutes when they hit the post but we could have been more ahead by then. We fully deserved the win.
“Luke Hyam was excellent and showed what a good professional he is. He has been out of the side for the last couple of games and not happy about it but he responded in the right way and I expected him too because he’s a good pro and he scored and that’s one of the reasons he may have been left out – because we have not scored enough goals from midfield.
“I’m delighted for Conor. He grew into the game and got better as we went on. He has not played a lot of football and any player needs that run of games to get the best out of them.
“It was a terrific away performance. It’s great when a plan comes together but the players have to buy into what you want them to do if you have any chance and they always do that. They are a terrific bunch.”
