'Keeper delighted with McGoldrick and Murphy goals and pleased with 'perfect' afternoon for Blues

Dean Gerken was delighted to see Town make it four wins in a row and move into the Play-Off places, following the 2-0 victory over Rotherham this afternoon.

Early goals from Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick ensured Blues brushed aside the Millers at Portman Road, with Dean believing there aren’t too many better attacking partnerships in the division.

“I had a great view for Didz’s goal as I was right behind it and it was a stunning strike,” Gerks told the Club website.

“It’s no surprise to me though as I see him do that day in, day out in training. He’s a quality striker and he’s proved why teams wanted to pay big bucks for him.

“He must love playing with Murph as well, as he takes all the bashings and makes Didz look the flair player!

“But they are a great pairing and have both scored today which has won us the game.

“We had to work for the points today but I think we deserved them. It was a perfect day really, winning the game and keeping a clean sheet too.

“We’re confident at Portman Road and we’re playing well. We’ve got two tough away games to come now but I don’t see why we can’t go there and get something.

“We’re into the Play-Off places now after nine games and let’s see if we can still be there with nine games to play.”
