Midfielder relishing return and aims to help keep Town in the top six

Jonny Williams has told Ipswich Player of his delight at returning to Town and is looking to play his part in Blues’ top six ambitions.

The midfielder has joined on loan from Crystal Palace until January and will go straight into the squad for Tuesday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Jonny spent three months on loan at Portman Road last term, becoming a firm favourite with the Blue Army in that time and the Wales international says those memories played a big part in his decision to return to the Club.

“I found out after we lost to Newcastle in the Capital One Cup last week that I could go out on loan,” Jonny told Ipswich Player.

“I had a few options but Ipswich was one of the main clubs that came to mind immediately and I felt it was the best club for me to join.

“There were so many positives from my time here before. There is a great team spirit here, the fans were great to me but the main thing was the belief the manager showed in me. I’m looking forward to playing for him again.

“Things look like they are going well on the pitch and the Club is moving forward. The Play-Offs are the aim and I’m delighted to have the chance to try and help keep Ipswich in the top six.”

Jonny will remain at Portman Road until the start of the New Year and won’t be thinking beyond that until January.

“All I am concentrating on at the moment is Sheffield tomorrow,” added the 20-year-old.

“I want to play as many games as I can between now and January and then we will see what happens after that.”
