Defender delighted to open his account for the Club but more impressed with another huge Town win

Jonny Parr was delighted with Town’s ‘perfect night’ as he scored his first goal for the Club in the 2-0 win over Brighton.

The Norwegian fired Blues in front in the second-half, before a stunning strike from Daryl Murphy sealed the win for Mick McCarthy’s side.

“That was brilliant, it was a perfect night really,” the right-back told the Club website.

“It was a great time to score my first Ipswich goal but the main thing is we picked up another huge three points

“It’s been a good week for us with two wins over two good sides and it’s shot us up the table. We’ve performed well in both games and kept two clean sheets which, as a defender, is really pleasing.

“As I mentioned, it’s nice to score although it wasn’t a classic! I’ve just reacted first to the loose ball and put it away.

“It’s great to score though and it was nice to celebrate with the fans. I know the Norwegian branch of supporters were here tonight so it’s kind of fitting!

“We’ve got a tough game coming up against Wigan now and we will be focusing on that now, but there’s no denying that this is a big win for us.”
