Boss delighted with successive home wins after victory over Brighton

Mick McCarthy was delighted with the performance as Town made it six points from six with a 2-0 win over Brighton.

Goals from Jonathan Parr and Daryl Murphy in the last 12 minutes gave Blues the three points following Saturday’s win over Millwall by the same scoreline.

“It’s been a good four days for us, with the six points,” Mick told the Club website.

“I was delighted with the performance as well, the work-rate that went into it – especially after playing Saturday.

“Alex Henshall did really well for the first goal, putting in Tyrone and the other full-back got the goal so it paid off playing two attacking full-backs.

“Murph’s goal was fantastic. It will take something special to beat that for our goal of the season.

“We had to grow into the game, we had to stick with it and Gerks made a terrific save in the first-half but their ‘keeper did the same later on and overall I think we deserved it.”
