It's reward for progress he has made says Mick as defender commits to Blues to 2017
The 21-year-old defender, who was subject of a substantial bid from Crystal Palace rejected by Town in August, put pen to paper on his new deal this morning.
Tyrone joined Blues from non-League Chippenham in December 2012 after impressing Town boss Mick McCarthy while on trial and has made 26 appearances for the Club so far.
“We’ve been delighted with the progress Ty has made and his contract is reward for getting in the team and doing well,” Mick told the Club website.
“Palace did make a big offer for him but we want him here long term. I want to keep our young, exciting players and Ty is one of them.”
