Matchwinner Christophe happy to see Town take the points against Blackpool and insists that's all that matters at this stage of the season
Christophe Berra insists that at this stage of the season, it’s all about getting results- no matter how pretty or ugly the performance is.
Town edged out relegated Blackpool at Portman Road 3-2, with the Scotland international heading home a late winner following an earlier brace from striker Freddie Sears.
The points saw Mick McCarthy’s side move back into the top six, ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Cardiff at Portman Road.
“At this stage of the season, it’s all about the result and we’re delighted to have won the game,” Christophe told the official Club website.
“It wasn’t one of our best performances and the two goals we conceded were poor from our point of view, but we’ve won the game and we’re back in the top six which is the main thing.
“Blackpool came here with no pressure having been relegated and it was a banana-skin game for us, as we had everything to lose really.

“We had to be patient, especially when they equalised, but thankfully I’ve managed to get my head on the end of Murph’s cross and get us the win.
“You could see how important that goal was to everyone and the celebrations in that bottom corner of the ground reminded me of my goal against Derby last season.
“I was delighted to score- my sixth of the season which is a decent return- but the main thing was getting the three points and we can take that into another tough game against Cardiff on Tuesday.”
