Striker's delight at netting crucial winner against the Reds as Town edge ever closer to a Play-Off place

Freddie Sears admitted he had goosebumps after seeing his winning strike raise the roof off Portman Road, as Town defeated Nottingham Forest 2-1 to go within a whisker of claiming a Play-Off place.

The striker netted late on to secure the win, after Daryl Murphy’s earlier strike had been cancelled out by a Christophe Berra own goal.

“I think everyone has just about got their breath back now!” Freddie joked to Ipswich Player after the game.

“What an incredible game and most importantly, a huge three points for us.

“It was a strange atmosphere today and sort of felt like a Cup final or a Play-Off game. The fans were brilliant but when Forest scored it got a bit edgy.

“But once the winning goal went it the place was buzzing again and the atmosphere gave me goosebumps.

“These are the games you want to be involved in and it was such a great feeling.

“We’re almost there but we’ve still got work to do if we want to get into the Play-Offs. Like the gaffer said, we have to go to Blackburn and finish the job off.”
