Winning mentality needed, says Murphy, as Town look to ensure Play-Off place with result at Blackburn this weekend

Daryl Murphy has called on his Town teammates to ‘get the job done’ as Blues look to secure a Play-Off spot with a result at Blackburn.

Mick McCarthy’s side travel to Ewood Park to bring the curtain down on the League fixtures, although a point against Rovers will see Town book a place in the end of season Play-Offs.

But top scorer Murphy isn’t taking any chances and admits that the Blues will be going into the game looking to get the three points regardless.

“We’ve got to go to Blackburn with the mentality of trying to win the game, it’s as simple as that,” Daryl told Ipswich Player.

“A point will be enough but we want to get the job done and set ourselves up for the Play-Offs.

“We’ve been up there for most of the season and now we’ve put ourselves into a good position with the win over Forest, we’ve just got to get over the line now.

“We’re all confident and looking forward to the game. Hopefully we can give ourselves a crack at getting into the Premier League by making the Play-Offs.

“It’s where we all want to be.”
