Daryl in final three for prestigious Football League honour
The Town striker bagged his 24th goal of the season in the 3-1 win over Cardiff on Tuesday night in a week where he was named the Supporters’ Player of the Year and the Junior Blues’ Player of the Year at Portman Road.
The Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year has been voted for by managers of the 24 clubs in the division, with each boss asked to nominate their top five players of the season in order.
The scores were then added up to produce a shortlist and an overall winner, which will be announced at the Football League Awards night held in London on Sunday.
Murph, top scorer in the Championship and the division's Player of the Month in December, is up against Patrick Bamford, who is on loan at Middlesbrough from Chelsea, and Watford’s Troy Deeney for the award.
