Striker delighted to be named Player of the Year by the fans and praises the superb support of the Blue Army

Daryl Murphy has thanked the Town supporters for the backing they have provided to the side, after the striker scooped the Supporters Player of the Year award.

The Republic of Ireland international- Blues’ top scorer with 23 goals to his name- was also named as the Junior Blues and Away fans’ Player of the year and the striker admitted he was honoured to land the awards.

“I was delighted to win the award and it was a real honour for me,” Daryl told the official Club website.

“You look down the list of the players who have won it before and to be alongside them was a really nice feeling.

“It’s nice to get that recognition from the fans and they’ve been brilliant all season.
