Mick delighted with performance but dismayed to see points slip away

• Boss happy with display
• Bart looked to have been impeded
• Bad goals to concede

Mick McCarthy felt his side didn’t get the rewards they deserved at Griffin Park.

Goals from Kevin Bru and Ryan Fraser, on his debut for the Club, either side of half-time put Blues in control but Brentford grabbed a point with two goals in added on time.

“It feels like a defeat because they have scored so late in the game,” the Town boss Ipswich Player HD.

“If we came in after 92 minutes, I would have seen it as a great performance but my mood changes in the blink of an eye and it’s the same for everyone else in the dressing-room as well.

“We didn’t deal with the long ball and we didn’t deal with the corner at the end. Bart felt he was impeded but the referee wasn't going to give us the sympathy vote.

“I said to young Josh Emmanuel that he should be sitting in the dressing-room having been on the winning side. It’s the same for the other players.

“We should have scored a third goal but when you don’t, you don’t go giving the goals away that we did.

“I’m disappointed but I’ll look at the performance on Sunday and know it was a good one and that we should have had the three points to show for it.”
