And striker salutes travelling Town support

Brett Pitman has spoken of his delight at opening his goal account for Blues in the away win at Preston and praised the travelling Town support.

The summer arrival from Bournemouth nodded his side in front midway through the first-half as Town stayed at the top of the table with a 2-1 win at Deepdale, the Club’s first victory at North End in 35 years.

“Obviously it’s important to get off the mark for the season and the first one is definitely the hardest so hopefully there will be a few more,” Brett, who played up front and in midfield over the 90 minutes, told Ipswich Player HD

“I don’t score too many headers so like I said, hopefully there will be more to come.

“I’ve played in different positions to a point for Bournemouth but not for as long as I did today!

“Whoever is asked to play wherever on the pitch will always give it their all and that can only stand us in good stead in the long run.

“The lads are grateful for the support we have and I think at the end it showed what it means to the players to have them there and they were excellent.”
