Josh delighted to mark debut with a goal but says he's more pleased to see Town in the hat for the next round of the Capital One Cup

  • Town through to the next round of the Cup
  • Yorwerth and Tabb on target
  • Blues come from behind to win

Josh Yorwerth spoke of his delight to see Town progress through to the next round of the Capital One Cup, after the Blues brushed aside Stevenage at Portman Road.

The defender marked his debut with a goal, as he levelled the score in the secondhalf after a Christophe Berra own goal had given Stevenage the lead, before Jay Tabb secured the win for the Blues.

The Wales U-21 international was delighted to make his senior bow for the Blues and is hoping to get another opportunity in the first-team in the next round.

“I was delighted to get a goal on my debut but the main thing is getting through to the next round,” Josh told the official Club website.

“When they scored, I felt I should have done better defensively, but thankfully I’ve managed to get a goal and I think that was the only way for me to rectify that.

“It was so pleasing to see Tabby get the winner as well and see us through to the next round, which I think we deserved.

“It’s another game for us boys, especially the younger lads and I thought Myles at left-back tonight was really solid. Me and him made our debuts and hopefully it’s another chance for us to play again in the first-team. .

“Every day I’m learning new things, especially working with the gaffer, he’s an unbelievable manager. I have a two-year contract so at the end of it I think I’ll be a much better defender and a much better footballer.”
