Open Day for Town's Ladies team at Portman Road.

After the success of England at the Women’s World Cup recently, there is an extra buzz about the game this season.

More girls than ever are playing the game and if you are interested in playing or just getting involved, then pop down to Portman Road on Thursday, August 27 between 6.30 and 7.30pm.

The Ipswich Town Ladies Football Club are holding an open evening in the Players’ Lounge.

“It is a chance for people to come along, find out a bit more about the ladies team and how they might be able to help,” said team manager Ralph Pruden.

“We are looking for people to join our management committee with roles that may range from being Club Secretary, PR & Marketing Officer to matchday roles such as helping with catering or taking gate money.

“There are sponsorship opportunities and we are also looking to add a couple of players to our squad.”

Anyone wishing to attend the open evening should email Ralph in advance at

The Ladies kick off their season in style with a League Cup game against Norwich on August 30. No pressure girls!
