Mick confirms that it will be a new look side to face Stevenage tomorrow night with only Luke Chambers retaining his place from the opening game of the season
- Yorwerth, Pitman, Toure and Kenlock to make debuts
- Douglas and Coke to start in midfield
- Berra returns from suspension
Mick McCarthy has confirmed he will had a number of players Town debuts against Stevenage tomorrow evening, although Jonathan Parr and Teddy Bishop will both miss out through injury.
The manager announced his starting XI at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game, with only Luke Chambers remaining who started the weekend clash with Brentford.
“Jonny Parr and Teddy will both miss out,” the boss told the official Club website.
“Parr will be back training later in the week, whilst Teddy has got a tight hamstring and we don’t want to rush him back too soon.
“We will need to manage him and he could be out for a few weeks. We’ve got a busy programme of six, potentially seven, games in 21 days so we need to make sure we get him right.
“There will be changes but it will still be a strong team full of mainly hard-nosed senior pros.
“Gerks is in goal, Chambo will be at right-back, Josh Yorwerth will make his senior debut alongside Christophe [Berra] at centre-half and young Myles Kenlock will be at left-back.
“Tabby, Giles Coke, Jonathan Douglas and Larsen Toure will be across the midfield and David McGoldrick and Brett Pitman will be up front.
“So it’s a strong team, that’s for sure and no one can say we’re putting out a weak side.”
