McGoldrick, Murphy and Fraser head the list of Town players called up for international duty next month
A number of Town players have been called up for international duty next month.
Strike duo David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy have been selected for Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
McGoldrick was an unused substitute in Ireland’s last competitive match, a 1-1 draw with Scotland at the Aviva Stadium, and has three caps to his name, whist Murphy has 12 caps.
Winger Ryan Fraser has been named in Scotland U21 manager Ricky Sbragia’s first squad, after being appointed earlier this month, as they take on Northern Ireland in a qualifier at Mourneview Park.
Dylan Connolly has been named in the provisional Republic of Ireland U21 squad, as they take on Qatar in a friendly on September 4th before facing Andorra in a qualifier four days later.
Youngster Adam McDonnell rounds off Town’s international call-ups, being selected for the Republic of Ireland U-19 squad after impressing in November’s qualifiers for Paul Doolin’s side where he played a part in defeating Gibraltar and drawing with Switzerland.
