The Blues to make trip to Old Trafford to take on Premier League giants in the next round of the Capital One Cup

Ipswich Town have been drawn against Manchester United in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Town’s reward for defeating Doncaster Rovers 4-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium tonight will be a trip to Old Trafford, to face the four-time League Cup winners.

It will be the first time the Blues will have played United at Old Trafford since 2001, although Town won the only League Cup meeting between the sides, claiming a 2-0 victory over Sir Alex Ferguson’s team at Portman Road in 1997.

Although the final date for the game has yet to be determined, it is scheduled to be played in the week commencing the 21st of September.

Ticket details will be announced on the official Club website in due course.
