Key role in development of young Blues

Lead Performance Analyst

Job Purpose 
To lead the provision of Performance Analysis in the Academy, with daily focus on the U21 squad.

Key Responsibilities
The role will focus on leading the Academy Performance Analysis department in reaching/meeting the EPPP category 1 requirements as well as providing analysis support to the U21 squad. This will involve working closely with Academy coaching staff in order to service all their analysis needs. This may include but not restricted to; pre-match and post-match team and individual technical analysis, live coding of matches, training analysis, and data trend analysis. Other responsibilities would include: 
•Filming of U21 matches/training
•Providing opposition analysis as required
•Leading and producing best practice videos for staff and players throughout the Academy
•Supporting coaching staff with 6 and 12 week reviews as required
•Keeping all records up to date on the PMA
•Developing new and insightful initiatives and practices for evaluating team and player performance
•Liaising with relevant medical, fitness and football staff regarding player development
•Managing staff and setting schedules for interns

Must be available to work youth matches, this will involve travel.

Person Specification
•Previous experience working within a professional football environment
•Understanding of how football/performance analysis fits into and can assist the football department
•Experience working at Academy level and knowledge of both the PMA system and EPPP guidelines is essential
•Knowledge of relevant coding systems and film making software (e.g. Sportscode)
•Experience leading a small department/managing other staff is preferred but not essential

•Undergraduate degree relating to the field of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance and/or Performance Analysis
•FA Level 2 certificate in coaching football is preferred but not essential.
