Town boss Mick McCarthy has revealed to Ipswich Player HD that he asked Bournemouth about signing Ryan Fraser on a permanent deal.
The Scottish winger, who is on a season-long loan at Portman Road, today signed a new three-year deal with the Cherries, who see him as part of their long-term future.
“I asked Eddie [Howe] about Ryan and whether we could sign him permanently after the loan,” the boss told Ipswich Player HD.
“He told me he wasn’t for sale and they’ve offered him a new three year-deal, which shows just how much they value him.
“But listen I’m delighted with Ryan and that we’ve got him here for a year. He’s been top drawer since he arrived and he changed the game for us on Tuesday night.
“He’s a quality player and he’s fitted in here easily. I’m delighted to have him on board.”
