Striker in line for bench against Boro and Blues could receive Christmas bonus
Didz has been sidelined for a month with a groin injury but has returned to training this week and is likely to be among the substitutes to face the promotion frontrunners.
“Didz has been back in training this week and if all goes well, he will be on the bench tomorrow,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.
“He’s been out for a while so he is nowhere near ready to play 90 minutes, or even 30 minutes but he has the quality to come on towards the end and create something or grab us a goal.”
Town have also been boosted by the news that Ryan Fraser is closing in on a return to fitness and a return to Portman Road.
The Scotland U21 international, who is on a season loan at Town from Bournemouth, is back on the south coast as he recovers from a knee ligament injury.
“Ryan might be back with us by Christmas and what a nice present that will make!” added Mick.
“He was outstanding for us before his injury and it will be a real boost to everyone here to have him back with us but he will return when Bournemouth say he’s ready. I’d be the same if he was my player.”
