Freddie Sears reflects on the performance which seen Town run out 2-1 winners over Fulham at Craven Cottage
Freddie Sears believes that adding a counter-attacking threat has made Town a much more dangerous outfit this season.
The striker opened the scoring with less than 20 seconds on the clock before setting up Brett Pitman’s second-half winner as Town defeated Fulham at Craven Cottage this evening.
“We look dangerous on the counter attack and I don’t think we had that as much last season,” he told Ipswich Player HD following the 2-1 victory.
“We’ve got a lot of attacking players in me, Ainsley (Maitland-Niles), Ryan Fraser and obviously Murphy and Pitman up front so we have a lot of pace which is causing teams problems at the moment.
“The gaffer always talks about starting fast and we managed to do that. It always helps when you get that early goal because it really settles you down.
“We were disappointed with their goal because we had chances to kill them off. They’ve started the second half brightly but once we got the second goal it was enough and I think in the end we really deserved the points."
