Defender to remain at Crawley as boss looks for youngsters to get games

Mick McCarthy has agreed to extend Josh Yorwerth’s loan at Crawley until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old defender, who joined Blues in the summer after progressing through the youth ranks at Cardiff, has been a regular in the League Two club’s line-up since first going there on loan at the end of September.

His stay with the Red Devils ended on December 29 but Town have given the green light for Josh to remain with Crawley until the end of May.

Meanwhile James Alabi has returned to Portman Road after spending time on loan at Grimsby.

Matt Clarke is currently on loan at Portsmouth and Josh Emmanuel at Crawley and Mick says he wants them playing first-team football somewhere.

“They need to be playing games and if they are doing that where they are, then great,” the boss told the Club website.

“If they are not, then I’ll look at bringing them back and loaning them out elsewhere.”
