Town activate release clause to bring midfielder back from Rotherham loan

Luke Hyam will be in contention for a place in the squad for Boxing Day’s clash against QPR.

The midfielder has returned to Portman Road after Town took up the option to recall him from his loan stay at Rotherham.

The Academy graduate was scheduled to stay with the Millers until the middle of January but Town boss Mick McCarthy has chosen to active the 28 day release clause.

Luke, who has 99 League appearances to his name in a Blues’ shirt, has not appeared for the first team since sustaining a knee injury last January which eventually required surgery in the summer.

In his time at Rotherham, he made five appearances.
