The Blues will now be offering unique limited-edition, signed and match worn memorabilia, in association with Sportnex GmbH
Ipswich Town FC are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new online auction platform, www.itfcauction.com, in conjunction with Sportnex GmbH. Sportnex, one of the largest specialist football auction platforms, operate sites for over 40 professional clubs – including Arsenal and Liverpool in the UK.
The brand new platform will host auction lots featuring authentic match worn pieces from the first-team kit room and training ground, signed merchandise and replica pieces from the first-team squad and unique one-off designated charity fundraising auctions.
Sportnex GmbH work officially with Ipswich Town FC with all lots listed being obtained directly from the Club itself, with certificates of authenticity accompanying each lot. The Blues’ and Sportnex GmbH are aware of a huge amount of counterfeit merchandise and replica shirts being sold as ‘match worn’ on other auction sites, with many fans extremely disappointed when they receive these items.
These lots are very rarely legitimate listings, with no official authenticity paperwork, and very often ‘fake’ or ‘embellished’ listings. This brand new auction site will allow Town fans to bid in confidence on genuine items supplied directly from the Club itself – guaranteeing their authenticity.
Town will be looking to add new listings throughout the season, keeping content fresh, current and unique, with many lots unavailable to football fans through the usual channels.
“We’ve been gathering auction lots for some time now, with some really unique bits to come in the forthcoming weeks and months”, Town’s Director of Retail Operations, Lee Hyde, told the Club website.
“We’re keen to give fans the opportunity to get their hands on some exclusive limited-edition pieces, whilst at the same time allowing them the confidence that these auction lots are supplied exclusively by the Club.”
Fans registering on the site will be kept up to date as new auction lots are added. The site is sure to be a talking point, not only amongst Town fans but also sports memorabilia collectors from around the world. Due to the festive period, the initial listings will last three weeks with subsequent auctions lasting seven or 14 days, with some lots subject to a reserve while others will have no minimum price once a big is received. It is hoped that there will always be four live auctions at any one time.
