Oar, Toure and Bru again miss out through injury but Bishop and Fraser closing in on Blues return
Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Tommy Oar, Kevin Bru and Larsen Toure remain sidelined buthad some encouraging news regarding the fitness levels of David McGoldrick and Teddy Bishop.
Oar, Bru and Toure all missed the defeat to Boro through injury and the weekend trip to MK Dons will also prove too much for the trio.
However McGoldrick did make his return against Aitor Karanka’s side from the bench and will again be in the squad to face the Dons, whilst Bishop has trained well as he looks to make his long-awaited return.
“Tommy, Kevin and Larsen will all be missing again, unfortunately,” Mick told Ipswich Player HD.
“They missed the Boro game and they won’t be travelling to Milton Keynes with us. Tommy has been unfortunate. He got in the team and then picked up his concussion and we changed system a little bit. Then last week he jarred his knee at the end of training which kept him out of the Middlesbrough game.
“It was great to see Didz back and I was delighted to get him on the field, albeit for only five minutes or so. He’s getting there and he will be with us at the weekend.

“Teddy won’t be involved but he’s trained really hard this week and it looks like we are getting somewhere with him now.
“It’s been frustrating- for him and us- not to have had him available yet but he’s had some treatment and it seems to have worked for him. I spoke to him just now and he’s seems a lot more upbeat and bubbly, which is great. He’s getting there.”
Meanwhile, the manager has also confirmed that on-loan winger Ryan Fraser is closing in on a return to full fitness and is expecting him back at Portman Road soon.
