But Mick trusts players to carry on the job started in August

  • Boss happy to see no bids for his players
  • Town may now utilise the loan market
  • Mick happy with the players he has to continue job
Mick McCarthy says using the loan market is an option he will look at but he trusts the players he has to continue the job they started back in August.

Blues sit three points off the automatic promotion places and six above seventh placed Wolves with 18 games left in the Championship ahead of the trip to Rotherham at the weekend.

The transfer window deadline passed quietly at Portman Road yesterday, as Mick said it would but Town can delve into the loan market in a week’s time if required.

“I said no one was leaving us so it was always going to be a quiet day,” Mick told the Club website.

“With signing players, I’ve said many times, where do I get players that are better than what we have?

“We have done well with what we’ve got this season and I trust the players to carry that on. They are a great bunch.

“Bringing players in on loan is a possibility though. We can bring players in on emergency loans until the end of March and we can take them for up to 93 days which will take us up to the end of the season.”
