Town have signed Chris Wood on loan from Premier League side Leicester City.

The New Zealand international, a teammate of Tommy Smith with the All Whites, trained with his Town teammates this morning and will now remain at Portman Road for the rest of the season.

The striker began his career in England with West Brom but spent the majority of his time away from the Hawthorns, taking in loan spells with Barnsley, Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol City and Millwall before eventually joining Leicester on a permanent deal.

The 23 year-old helped the Foxes earn promotion to the Premier League last term and has so far scored 12 goals for the club, including the equaliser against Everton on the opening day of the season.

Chris will wear the number 39 shirt at Town and is available to make his debut for the Blues in Sunday’s East Anglian derby against Norwich at Carrow Road.
