Tyrone delighted to net his first Town goal and labels the win over Birmingham as the 'perfect reaction'
- Mings nets first Town goal
- Sears bags a brace
- Bru also on target for Blues
Tyrone Mings labelled Town’s win over Birmingham as ‘the perfect reaction’ and was overjoyed to net his first goal for the Club.
The left-back powered a header beyond Darren Randolph to fire Town in front, with Freddie Sears going on to bag a brace alongside a first Blues goal from Kevin Bru wrapped up the win despite two Birmingham strikes from David Davis.
The one disappointment- Tommy Smith pulling him down before he had chance to perform his ‘planned out’ celebration!
“It was a great team performance and a perfect reaction to the weekend defeat,” Tyrone told Ipswich Player post-match.
“I think our performances have maybe been a bit flat recently but tonight we were back to our best and it was a nice victory and obviously sweet to top it off with a goal on a personal level.
“I’ve been ‘killed’ about by Tommy [Smith] as I had an unbelievable celebration planned out but he’s pulled me down and all the lads have bundled on top of me!
“That shows the spirit we have here though and it was great to celebrate with them.
“I think I’ve been due a goal and it was a great feeling when it hit the back of the net. I usually stay back at corners but the gaffer has allowed me to go up for it and thankfully Ando has picked me out.
“It’s a great three points from a good performance and now we can focus on a huge game on Sunday. I can’t wait for it!”
