Midfielder pens new contract to keep him at Portman Road until 2018 to the delight of his manager
Mick McCarthy has told the Club website of his delight at seeing Town sign up Kevin Bru on a contract until the summer of 2018.
The 26-year-old midfielder arrived on trial at Portman Road in the summer and along with Balint Bajner, did enough to earn a one year deal.
While Bajner failed to break into the Town line-up and joined Notts County yesterday, Kevin has made 19 appearances so far this term and was rewarded for his progress by putting pen to paper on a three and a half year deal.
“I’m delighted that Kevin has signed a new contract. It’s well deserved,” said the Town boss, speaking in an interview with Ipswich Player.
“When you agree to have a look at a player, you may get a week or two at most so to get one out of two right is terrific.
“It didn’t work out for Balint here but it certainly has for Kevin. We instantly knew he could play. He played for the U21s at Sudbury in pre-season I think it was and he stood out like a sore thumb with his ability.”
