Town midfielder Stephen Hunt wants to see bumper Portman Road crowd rocking ahead of FA Cup clash with Saints

Stephen Hunt is looking for Portman Road to be ‘rocking’ as FA Cup fever hits Suffolk this week.

The Blues take on Premier League Southampton in a third round replay on Wednesday (kick-off 7.55pm), with the game set to be broadcasted live on BBC One, while Crystal Palace await the winners.

“It’s going to be a cracking atmosphere and we want to put on a display for the fans that are coming,” the midfielder told Ipswich Player.

“We want people at Portman Road and we want to rock the place.

“We defended well in the first game and frustrated them a little. Hopefully, now it’s at our place, we can put them under a little bit more pressure and show what the FA Cup is all about.

“Someone told me that there will be around eight million viewers for a BBC game, plus a sell-out in the stadium, so it’s great to have all eyes on Ipswich Town at the moment.”
