Skipper happy with another tough workout for Blues as the pre-season programme continued with Dusseldorf clash
- Skipper pleased with run out
- Praises the young Blues
- All about minutes right now
Luke Chambers has told the official Club website it’s ‘all about the fitness levels’ at this stage of pre-season.
Town were narrowly edged out by Fortuna Dusseldorf yesterday but the skipper felt there were plenty of positives, as the Blues continue the pre-season programme.
“It was good to get another run out on the grass and we’re looking at minutes on the pitch right now, rather than results,” Luke told Ipswich Player HD.
“Fortuna are good side and they were obviously ahead of us in terms of fitness, as they start their season next week.
“So they had a full strength side out but it was a good test for a few of our younger lads to go up against that and I thought the boys did well.
“It’s about getting the fitness back at this stage and we’ve got another test on Tuesday against Cambridge, which again will be good to get some more minutes under our belts.”
