Duo return to the Town squad ahead of tonight's friendly with Cambridge United and could both make first appearances of pre-season

  • 23 man squad named for Cambridge clash
  • Berra and McGoldrick set for action
  • Game at Abbey Stadium kicks-off at 7.45pm

Town duo David McGoldrick and Christophe Berra could both be set for their first outing of pre-season against Cambridge this evening.

The pair returned late to pre-season training after representing their countries on international duty, although both have been named in the squad for tonight’s friendly against the U’s (kick-off 7.45pm).

Daryl Murphy, who was also granted extra time off this summer, won’t be included in the squad however after suffering a minor niggle during the close season.

Jonathan Parr again misses out with a knock, after he was absent from Town’s 4-3 friendly defeat to Fortuna Dussledorf on Friday.

Cambridge-born midfielder Teddy Bishop is included though, as are all three goalscorers from the Fortuna game- Freddie Sears, Brett Pitman and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
