Mick happy with Town display and confirms he's 'having a look' at former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke

Town boss Mick McCarthy was pleased with the performance of his players, despite being held to a goalless draw by Peterborough this afternoon.
The Blues stepped up the pre-season preparations at the ABAX Stadium, although had chances to win the game with Adam McDonnell going close with an effort that came back off the bar.
“I thought it was a good game, although we would have liked to have won the game of course,” Mick told the official Club website.
“I thought the pitch was a bit long, which didn’t help the tempo for either sides but the conditions in general were good and it was a decent game.
“Obviously it reflects better if we win our pre-season games but I’m more bothered about the performances at this stage and I thought we did well, especially the kids that came on second-half.”
Town lined up with Giles Coke in midfield, who Mick has confirmed has joined the Blues on trial, whilst strikers Brett Pitman and Freddie Sears were left out of the squad as injury precautions.
“I gave Giles Coke a run in midfield and I’m just having a look at him,” added Mick.
“He’s out of contract, he’s available and it doesn’t do us any harm. He’ll probably be involved on Tuesday against Colchester too.
“Brett Pitman I’m hopeful will be back on Tuesday and the same with Freddie Sears. His thigh tightened up in training and I didn’t want to risk him, so I told him to stay behind.
“They should both be fine for Tuesday.”
