Toure and Coke set to feature against Utrecht at weekend

• Coke and Toure to stay with Blues
• Boss: We didn't deserve to win
• Last pre-season game at Portman Road on Saturday

Mick McCarthy said that Larsen Toure and Giles Coke will remain with Town until the weekend at least after watching both in action in the 3-2 defeat at Colchester.

Kevin Bru and David McGoldrick were on target for Blues at the Weston Homes Community Stadium but two goals in the last five minutes gave the hosts the victory.

Toure - a former team-mate of Kevin Bru at Levski Sofia - played the first half hour after arriving at the Club yesterday, while Coke followed up his appearance against Peterborough with a second outing for Blues.

“Cokey did well. We are a bit bare in the midfield department so he will stay with us and he will be involved at the weekend,” said the Town boss.

“I like Toure as well. He played 30 minutes but he was knackered and we had to take him off.

“He has not played at all though but he trained well yesterday and I liked what I saw. He will stay with us until the weekend as well.”

On the game, Mick added: “In the second-half, we didn’t play well enough.

“We had spells at 2-1 when we played some nice stuff but we emptied the midfield for two of their goals and that was surprising considering the players we had out there.

“We didn’t deserve to win the game but fair play to Colchester.”

Town complete the pre-season campaign against Dutch club Utrecht at Portman Road on Saturday.
