Midfielder believes Town are in good shape ahead of the new term and wants to sign off pre-season with a win against FC Utrecht

  • Final pre-season game tomorrow
  • Midfielder ready for new campaign
  • Lads in good shape

Jay Tabb has welcomed the competition for places at Town, as the Blues gear up for a new season by taking on FC Utrecht in the final friendly of pre-season this weekend.

The midfielder spoke to Ipswich Player HD at Town’s open day yesterday and believes the lads are in good shape ahead of the season opener at Brentford on August 8th.

“There’s competition for places and that’s a good thing to have, it’s something you need,” Jay told Ipswich Player HD.

“You need that competition without having too many players left out and I think the manager has developed a good balance, with the squad we have.

“I’m sure he will be looking to still add a couple of faces but we’re looking good and gearing up for the first game of the season away at Brentford.

“We’ve got a game against Utrecht this weekend and all the lads are looking forward to that test and hopefully ending pre-season with a win.”
