  • Town to kick-off new campaign away to Brentford

Mick McCarthy has praised the impact of young midfielder Teddy Bishop, as he reflects on what was an impressive first season for the teenager.

The Town boss spoke to the official Club website about the Academy graduate’s debut campaign and how he has had to manage the midfielder after emerging onto the first-team last term.

With the beginning of pre-season closing in, the manager is looking forward to seeing how Teddy copes with a full season under his belt.

“He’s handled it really well, he’s a top player in the making is Bish,” the gaffer said in a sit-down interview with Ipswich Player.

“It’s probably been tougher for him because we play 442 predominantly and he’s in there in a two and he might be playing against a three.

“I’ve had to manage him, look after him and not play him in every game but he’s done great.

“You know physically it’s been tough for him but he’s got better as the season has gone on and he’s a real talent.”
