Skipper says him and his teammates are enjoying their deserved summer breaks but will be raring to go again for pre-season

Luke Chambers insists Town will be ‘raring to go again’ once the players report back to pre-season.

The squad are currently enjoying a deserved break after a gruelling season, which saw Mick McCarthy’s side edged out in the Championship Play-Offs, with the team reporting back for pre-season in the final week of June.

“The manager and his staff will have us prepared and we will be looking forward to getting down to business again,” the skipper told the official Club website.

“The gaffer said his bit after the Play-Off game to us. He told us he’s incredibly proud of us as a group of players and that we had given him everything this season.

“Ultimately we fell a little short and Norwich had their day. Myself and the lads were confident but it wasn’t to be- but we all want to go again next season and we are hungry to go one better.

“The lads that are alongside me in the dressing-room are fantastic and we’re enjoying our summer breaks.

“You need to recuperate but as soon as we are back for pre-season, we will be raring to go again.”
