Striker given best possible conditions to work on his recovery with the medical team at Portman Road as he looks for swift return to Championship football

  • Striker suffered serious injury against Norwich
  • Surgery was a success
  • Will be given best possible conditions to undergo his rehab

Luke Varney will be returning to Town to complete his rehab, after surgery on his Achilles injury was a success.

The striker, who joined the Blues on loan from Blackburn last term, suffered a serious injury against Norwich in the home leg of the Championship Play-Offs.

However the former Leeds and Charlton man has undergone surgery and will now work closely with the Town medical team as he begins his recovery in earnest.

The Club will give Luke the best possible conditions to undergo his rehabilitation and everybody at Ipswich Town wishes him a speedy and healthy recovery, as he looks to get back to playing Championship football as soon as possible.

“The Club have been great with me and I’m already working on my rehab, getting some treatment,” added the striker.

“I just want to get back and play for Ipswich again as soon as possible now.

"I'm in good hands and I just want to pull that Ipswich shirt on again and repay all the players, staff and fans for their support."
