Shoot-out delight for Town's U12s
Blues beat Dublin District Soccer League 2-1 in the boys’ opening game, then drew 0-0 with hosts Peamount to qualify for the semi finals.
Town then produced an impressive performance in the last four showdown to beat Cork Schoolboy League 3-0, the game played under floodlights in front of a good crowd.
Sunday’s final brought Town up against the same DDSL side the boys had faced in the group.
The very wet and windy conditions made playing conditions difficult and the game ended in a goalless stalemate, meaning penalties.
Hayden Ketteridge proved to be Blues’ hero, saving a penalty to see his side come out on top 4-3 in the shoot-out, and deservedly winning the player of the tournament.
Special thanks goes to Farnham Leisure who sponsored the trip for Blues and Peamount United FC for their hospitality.
