Town given lift ahead of Easter clash against Championship leaders
Darren has been out since February with a hamstring injury while Didz has been sidelined with a thigh problem since the visit to Rotherham almost two months ago.
The striker, who spent time on loan at Bournemouth in 2007, did return to training a few weeks back but had to put his recovery on hold after suffering a reaction.
“We have got a few bodies back now,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.
“Didz was back out on the training field yesterday and so was Darren Ambrose so that’s obviously good news, though we have to be careful with them.
“We have a few still out though. Jonny Parr is struggling with a hamstring injury and Kevin Bru pulled up in the Watford game with a sore calf. We will have to see how they are over the next few days.”
A big crowd is expected for the Good Friday clash against the Cherries, kick-off 5.15pm. A victory for Town would take Blues to within three points of the league leaders.
